Our current money system benefits a few at the expense of the whole. But this model inherently contradicts the way nature functions as its own "economy" that marshals all its elements to work together for the good of the whole. For example, (this is also explained below) the bee gathers nectar from the flower and delivers pollen flower to flower. The bee benefits not only itself in gathering the pollen it needs, but it also benefits the flower in a harmonious exchange. A culture's money system should mimic the model of nature's economy that gives access to all needed resources for industry that in the end benefits everyone.
Another example, which we can learn from nature’s economy, is the importance of soil. Soil is the main component to the prospering of a plant. If your soil is healthy then the plants growing in that soil will be as well. The similarity is drawn between the soil and the money system. If the system is healthy then value will be added to the system and benefits all. It is when artificial growth comes into place where there is fault in both nature and economy. The best way to have a system run is organically.
Nature’s economy is a natural and prospering economy. Our current system revolves around scarcity and competition rather than abundance and generosity. Our money system would benefit by mimicking natures economy.
Farmer Ben Zoba connects farm life with economic system.
In nature, the industry and freedom of the bee doing its work exemplifies the kind of industry and freedom ordinary citizens should enjoy without the back-breaking burden of debt. All such industry inevitably benefits everyone -- especially those who enjoy honey!
The earth can yield its fruits only if the soil is healthy and conducive to robust growth. In the same way, if our environment -- such as financial struggles, social pressures, and seemingly insurmountable debt -- is debilitating, the soil of our lives is weak and depleted and we will not be able to thrive and experience robust activity, creativity and industry.
If the money system is healthy and beneficial for all, then many different can grow from that and add value to the overall system. The system can be damaged if there is superficial growth with short term improvement but in the end would have to put more and move into the system. For sustainability you must take care of the whole.
